Arthur assembled his first PC when he was nine years old. This fascination with figuring out how things work has been a divining rod for his life. It led him to the University of Oregon, where he earned his B.A. from the School of Journalism. Later, he taught creative writing and computer classes while designing and administering various websites in his free time. He then discovered his passion for all things food, redirecting his focus to perfecting the latte and constructing the ultimate sandwich at the multiple cafes and delis he managed in Oregon and the San Francisco Bay Area. Whether serving customers, catering events, or cooking at home, he used every kitchen gadget and appliance he could get his hands on to hone his culinary crafts. All this time, a growing infatuation with the Pacific Crest Trail blossomed into an obsession, for which he dropped everything to thru-hike in 2015. Arthur published a book about that journey, became the Editor-in-Chief for a popular backpacking website, and has been crushing miles ever since. He's an avid road and trail runner, having completed multiple marathons and ultramarathons, and continues to explore however he can, be it by foot, paddleboard, or off-road vehicle. At home, Arthur often cooks gourmet meals for his wife and friends, plots adventurous routes on his favorite GPS apps, writes sci-fi stories, and sips cold brew in a hammock overlooking his garden.
